The role of Clinical Operations Evolution Lead reports to the Director of Clinical Operations Evolution and is an essential role in shaping and evolving the operational delivery Clinical Trials within Global Development Operations (GDO).

Its responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with SMEs, executives and other critical stakeholders (e.g. R&D Quality, R&D Strategy) to translate strategic intent into business model implications.
  • Analyze metrics and determine when corrective actions are needed
  • Collect and analyze ideas for business model improvements from all areas
  • Collaborate with governing body and other key stakeholders to assess opportunities, prioritize projects and determine when to initiate.
  • Assemble the appropriate sponsorship and diversified core teams, complete concept evaluation and officially charter project.
  • Facilitate project through selected methodology to ensure design choices are being assessed and best path forward selected. Ensure projects stay on time and budget.
  • Communicate changes to impacted groups including Training, Change Management, Clinical Trial Planning, Finance, HR, IT, and other support mechanisms resulting from project delivery.
  • Ensure installation of changes are complete and are producing desired results. Celebrate accomplishments and disband team.
  • Ensure the relevant metrics are in place to measure continuation of benefits realization and business model documentation is updated (e.g. process models, job descriptions, etc.)
  • Maintain methodologies and corresponding tools
  • Participate in other GDO committees and forums and assess emerging capabilities to ensure desired outcomes are realized.

Experience:

  • Innovation and incremental improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Sigma, Agile, Baldridge, etc.)
  • Experience in Portfolio and Project Management
  • Experience in Communications and Change Management preferred including excellent communication skills with a proven ability to effectively engage and manage key stakeholders in various functions and geographies and mitigation strategies as well as Corrective Actions Preventive Actions.
  • Experience in matrix management is required with the ability to engage, influence and inspire others.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is required. A degree in Life Sciences, Engineering or equivalent is preferred. 7-10 years of work experience preferably in the pharmaceutical industry and 5 years of experience in clinical trial operations, data or technology management
  • Familiarity with  the drug development process experience in risk management and root cause analyses
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously to deliver intended value, ensure timely, on-budget execution of tasks. Attention to detail with excellent planning, time management and organizational skills
  • The candidate will demonstrate the ability to adopt a biopharma enterprise-wide and entrepreneurial mindset, to act with speed, accountability, and integrity, and to have fun along the way
  • Ability to travel periodically if needed.
