The Clinical Governance Team is an essential unit within the Health & Welfare business which supports and protects claimants, customers and our staff, it also supports the continued delivery of high quality clinical quality processes and initiatives.
The role will lead mainly on the creation, design and implementation of clinical content, engagement & training solutions to a multi-faceted operation currently spanning Personal Independence Payment (PIP) & Primary Care Support England (PCSE). They will work in close collaboration with the Health & Welfare Learning and Development team to achieve this.
The post holder will report directly to the Head of Clinical Quality (HCQ), providing regular updates on the progress, associated risks and clinical implications of on-going implementation activities and will provide support to all business units in ensuring all clinical information is effectively communicated and will support the operation to ensure adherence. The post holder will seek clinical leadership from the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), in addition, the post holder will support, where required other colleagues by providing clinical and operational support to other Clinical Governance activities.
What we are looking for:
To be an experienced UK registered Health Professional with a minimum of two years post-registration experience and current and unrestricted professional registration with any of the following bodies: GMC, NMC, HCPC.
Have an in-depth knowledge of the requirements of the PIP and / or Work Capability Assessment (WCA) assessment process including the ability to think both clinically and operational delivery.
To have experience of clinical effectiveness, quality assurance standards, feedback, peer review, audit methodology and, or impartial review.
To have an in-depth knowledge of the physiological, pathological, social and cultural issues which underpin the PIP assessment criteria and attention to detail.
To be able to understand and garner insight from statistical data to support decision making.
Previous experience of clinical governance activities is desirable but not essential
Demonstrable experience of designing content/messaging/resources for dissemination to a large multi-faceted organisation.
Previous experience of delivering clinical improvements across a large organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
In the post of Clinical Governance Lead with ownership of Content, Engagement & Training the following are direct accountabilities of the role;
Lead clinically on the design and creation of content and communications that support the adherence to agreed policy and continued improvement of quality.
Support the Chief Medical Officer & Head of Clinical Quality to impact impending changes to clinical and quality criteria as defined by amendments to the PIP Assessment Guide or PCSE quality criteria.
Create appropriately skilled and resourced working groups for discussing and designing clinical content, utilising data and clinical insight from various sources to drive decision making around new content.
To contribute to the on-going Clinical Governance development and initiatives. Achieved by reviewing such developments through strategy meetings/workshops and taking appropriate responsibility and ownership with appropriate upwards reporting when required.
Have responsibility for specific projects ensuring that all time lines are met including the production of regular progress reports to the Head of Clinical Quality.
Contribute to the identification of areas for the development and improvement of business processes and procedures from a clinical perspective and support such improvements as a lead for clinical content design.
Produce clinical content, training materials and modules that support the successful delivery of quality improvement and change including the creation of communication strategies including but not limited to; CPD modules, training packages, newsletters and condition insight reports.
