THE ROLE:

The successful candidate will assume responsibility for leading post-silicon activities related to SOC power management design, development, characterization and tuning for AMD APU products.

The person:

We are looking for a hard-working hands-on engineer to join our highly visible team to deliver power efficient products to millions of users worldwide.


Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement post-silicon power analysis and optimization work
  • Analyze interactions between various power management features and optimizing their configurations for power and performance
  • Develop and maintain Python and Perl scripts used for power data analysis
  • Work along with Power, Platform, and SOC Architects to improve power models used for future programs
  • Work with multi-functional teams to improve post-silicon power optimization test strategy, methodology and process
  • Lead collaborative technical discussions to drive resolution on technical issues
  • Provide hands on leadership to meet program development goals
  • Be able to work in high demand and fast-paced environment
  • Setting up systems and power measurement equipment for automated test framework


Preferred experience:

  • Strong understanding of low power computing features and benefits
  • Experience with SOC and PCB level power delivery network
  • Experience with scripting languages, Python/Perl etc
  • Familiar with PC industry development cycles and production workflow
  • Comfortable working in a lab environment
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to details
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion
  • Demonstrate ability to debug issues and quickly identify viable solutions
  • Team player with proven leadership skills
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and/or workload analysis


Academic credentials:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science with emphasis on computer architecture and/or workload analysis
