Cigna Outpatient Surgery Center (COPS), the primary outpatient surgery facility for Cigna Medical Group (CMG), is an established surgery center with four spacious, state of-the-art operating rooms and the finest equipment. Specializing in ophthalmology, ocular plastics, endoscopy, general surgery and podiatry, Cigna Outpatient Surgery Center staff place a high priority on making the patients’ surgical experience positive, efficient, and safe. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Operating Room RN functions in an autonomous manner utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of patients. The RN serves as a resource for internal and external customers by utilizing a number of resources established by Cigna and COPS policies and procedures and interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments: physicians, patients, families and external contacts. Incumbents work in a fast paced, sometimes stressful environment with a strong focus on customer service.

• 3003 N. 3rd St., Phoenix, AZ 85012
  • Monday – Friday  40 hours
  • Actual hours may vary based on case volume and unit needs
     

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide excellent care to Cigna Medical Group patients in an outpatient surgery setting.
• Support surgeon and anesthesiologist needs to ensure a safe and efficient surgical procedure.
• Integrate physiologic, medical, surgical, and anesthetic information to set patient care priorities.
• Identify potential or real problems and the most likely cause, set goals for care, and direct nursing interventions toward resolution of the problem or elimination of the cause.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• RN Degree required.
• 1 year Operating Room RN experience preferred.
• Active and unrestricted AZ nursing license required.
• BLS required.

• Good computer skills using MS Office Products (Word/Excel) and Electronic Health Records systems.
• Demonstrates flexibility and displays excellent communication skills with staff, surgeons, and patients.
