Job Description:
Truist Securities’ Analyst Program begins with up to seven weeks of classroom instruction that consists of an introduction to capital markets, products and services, accounting, corporate finance, systems and financial modeling training designed to give Analysts all the tools they will need to be successful. After the classroom training, Analysts join a business group and play a meaningful role in supporting senior Sales, Trading & Research professionals.
The Analyst program provides the opportunity to gain exposure to a number of disciplines within Sales, Trading & Research. Assignments will be with one of our Sales, Trading & Research groups listed below, with the opportunity to interact with other groups and disciplines throughout the investment bank. Within each group, Analysts play a meaningful role in supporting internal and external clients.
Equity Research
Equity Research is recommended for individuals with an interest in capital markets. Analysts will be embedded on a team(s) that covers a specific sector, under the watch of a senior research analyst (VP, Director or MD). Each team covers 10-25 stocks and is responsible for publishing research reports and providing “bespoke†content that is utilized by institutional investors during their investment process. Additionally, published material is widely disseminated among the corporate community and industry contacts. The Analyst will support their assigned team during the production and writing of research reports, which include investment recommendations (BUY, SELL or HOLD); this may include: data analysis, building/maintaining financial models, and participation in conference calls with company management teams or institutional clients.
Fixed Income Research
Truist Securities recruits Fixed Income Research Analysts for several different areas. Analysts will join the Fixed Income Research/Sales & Trading Team in Memphis and gain exposure to some or all of the following five groups:
Analysts in Fixed Income Research play a meaningful role in supporting senior investment banking professionals. Analysts generate fixed income investment portfolio presentations for depository, municipality and money manager customers. Analysts will also gain exposure to regulatory and accounting issues related to depositories and build a more robust understanding of financial institutions’ balance sheets, focusing on an asset-liability management perspective. Finally, they work with a team of Senior Analysts to develop relevant fixed income investment strategies and publish written research.
Credit Sales & Trading
This is an opportunity for a skilled, driven, and team oriented candidate to work in a Sales, Trading, or Desk Analyst role, collaborating with Truist fixed income professionals in a dynamic environment with ample avenues for skillset development and exposure to a variety of function specific applications across the platform.
Depending on placement, the candidate will focus primarily on Sales, Trading, or Desk Analyst responsibilities within the broader group. Examples of typical scenarios include trade fundamental credit analysis, generation and execution, market making, institutional client engagement, relationship management, evaluation of mergers and acquisitions, capital raising transactions, and investment relative value. The candidate will need to be highly proficient in modeling and possess superior written and verbal skills in order to create effective presentations and communicate efficiently with members of the group as well interact daily with institutional money managers and hedge funds.
Quantitative Research
This is an opportunity for technically proficient candidates to work in Sales, Trading, and Research. The Quantitative Research team works with multiple businesses to build new trading products, measure and manage risk, and to procure, investigate, and use data to improve the effectiveness of Sales, Trading, and Research businesses. Successful candidates will have completed coursework in calculus and linear algebra, have experience in programming in at least one language and have demonstrated an interest in applying their skills in finance. As an analyst you will support senior members of the Quantitative Research team in research projects. Examples include building of pricing or trading algorithms, conducting risk management research, and exploring the predictive value of data sets.
The Sales, Trading & Research Analyst position is typically a two-year position. At the end of the two-year period, Analysts may be asked to remain in the role for an additional year.

The majority of Sales, Trading & Research Analysts are placed in Atlanta, GA or New York, NY. The Fixed Income Research Analyst position will be located in our Memphis, TN office.
