Job Description

OBJECTIVE

Ensure the quality of development and humanitarian cooperation programs in the field of child protection, prioritizing and ensuring the coherence of approaches and synergies with other themes and the alignments of Save the Children.

FUNCTIONS

  1. Ensure quality standards, integration and approaches to child protection and children's rights in the different interventions; strengthening and/or training teams, collaborators and personnel in the field and at headquarters.

  2. Advise on the diagnosis and design of child protection programs in humanitarian and development contexts, including those based on: international standards, Save the Children International and inter agency child protection, ensuring feasibility, technical quality and donor regulations.

  3. Develop the strategy and action plan in the initiatives led by Save the Children, ensuring their coherence.

  4. Contribute to the Learning Agenda, developing tools and methodology for collecting evidence within the interventions of international programs or other transversal or priority programs for Save the Children (focus on alternative care, psychosocial support and mental health, management of child protection cases) .

  5. Contribute to capacity building and mainstreaming of child protection programming and the centrality of protection in other priority sectors for Save the Children (with a focus on emergency and humanitarian contexts) including the development of materials and training at headquarters level, Country or region.

  6. Participation and positioning in Save the Children International child protection thematic working groups relevant to Save the Children Spain.

  7. Any other function according to their category that is entrusted to them by their manager.

TRAINING REQUIRED

  • University degree. Post degree in Humanitarian Action and Development Cooperation.
  • Knowledge of child protection and children's rights (case management, psychosocial support, children on the move);
  • Use of tools at a professional level: Office automation –Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access…
  • ESSENTIAL command of the following languages: Spanish, English and French.

REQUESTED EXPERIENCE

  • Field experience in child protection and management of cases of violence against children;
  • Experience in design, development and review of procedures, guides and materials;
  • Valuable experience in the development of thematic proposals for national and international donors.

OTHERS

  • Compliance with: Values, Vision and Mission ; Code of Conduct and Security Protocols.
  • ESSENTIAL Negative Certificate of the Registry of Sex Offenders and work permit in Spain.
  • VALUABLE: 33% certified disability or belonging to other excluded groups.
