As a Chief Engineer (Consulting), you will lead projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business and be a recognized expert in a specialized field. You will focus on the design / development and innovation of Oilfield Sub-Surface Components, Systems, Services and/ or Controls, carrying out major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

 

As a Chief Engineer (Consulting), you will be responsible for:

•                     Serving as a recognized technical expert in a specific discipline, components or component systems, and providing consultation across enterprise management design organizations, and supplier organizations

•                     Establishing and maintaining a total quality management strategy to assure early involvement on manufacturing process / producibility matters 

•                     Managing complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise

•                     Contributing to the overall business strategy focusing on the design / development and innovation of Oilfield Sub Surface Components, Systems, or Controls

•                     Driving and communicating innovation, leading change and driving efficiencies and improvements across the enterprise

•                     Promoting and ensuring compliance to company and regulatory EHS requirements and expectations at all time

•                     Promoting and ensuring compliance to company and regulatory HSE and Quality Management Systems at all time

•                     Establishing effective network globally across client and other Baker Hughes Oil & Gas engineering functions

•                     Mentoring and coaching relevant personnel and reports

 

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

•                     Have a PHd, MSc or a BSc Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Fluid Mechanics, Chemistry, Automation, Controls, Engineering, or equivalent

•                     Have extensive management and design experience

•                     Be conscientious, flexible, versatile, and determined, capable of assertive and positive communication and performance

•                     Have a mature understanding of behavioral, personnel issues

•                     Be capable of leading and working effectively with team members and global teams

•                     Have a professional approach to changing work demands

•                     Have demonstrable industrial experience at a senior level of which some time should be in Sub-Surface engineering or in a relevant technical discipline e.g. Materials / Analysis

•                     Be familiar with Risk Assessment and Reliability Verification Procedures

•                     Be highly knowledgeable of current relevant industry standards and design codes for area of work
