The Regional Lab Chemistry Analyst is a bench chemistry role which supports standardized and efficient lab operations.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or natural or food sciences/pharmaceutical with emphasis in Analytical chemistry.
2+ years experience with chemical and physical analyses in food or related industries (internships and advanced education may partially substitute for required experience).
Knowledge and accuracy in running and maintaining necessary analytical instrumentation is required.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Deliver true, accurate results in a timely manner
- Technical knowledge and expertise in the use and application of specialized analytical instrumentation to support Nutritional testing, pre-mix, pre-blends, mixer studies, raw ingredients, developmental products, and finished product analysis. Specific instrumentation includes, but not limited to, ICP, ICP MS, Leco Protein Analyzers, Fat Extractors, Auto Titrators, TGA, HPLC, GC, Mass Spec, Wet Chemistry tests.
- Carrying out routine analysis accurately while following documented methods.
- Skilled in sample preparation, clean-up, separation, and assay.
- Monitors regional laboratory needs on regular basis.
- Operate, manage & maintain laboratory instrumentation
- Maintains documentation of analytical results in ELN (Electronic Notebook) and/or the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- When appropriate, help to write/create documents for, and always follow laboratory quality management systems ISO 17025 and Mars Global Laboratory Quality Management System.
- Work as a team player including open and honest communication, respecting confidentiality with any laboratory information.
- Follows Health & Safety requirements for Site and Lab
- Masters the key scientific principles associated with analytical analysis.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of laboratory safety, chemicals management and chemical hygiene plans.
- Knowledge of statistical methods including sampling plans, statistics and data interpretation including confidence intervals.
- Excellent practical laboratory skills. Ability to troubleshoot and maintain complex analytical instrumentation.
- Experience and skill in the use of the following: Computers, Spreadsheet software (MS Excel preferred), and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Excellent organizational skills to adjust to fluctuating workloads, urgent customer requests while maintaining attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to follow laboratory safety procedures, to maintain accurate records, and to clearly and accurately read, write and interpret data.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work
