Duties and Responsibilities:

This is a demanding role within the Catering team which will be providing food to Partners.

The role requires excellent communication and customer service skills. It can be physically demanding with some manual handling and would suit someone who is highly motivated and able to take initiative when working on their own.

The responsibility will range from working in a small to large kitchen, preparing hot and cold foods and pastry items ensuring a clean and tidy working environment.

Operating, cleaning and maintaining equipment within the department is essential as well as having an excellent knowledge of the John Lewis food safety standards.

Job Requirements:

Role Specific
-Apply the John Lewis food safety policies and procedures which include all legislation applicable to the Catering operation
-Ability to oversee the opening, closing and daily running of the operation
-Prepare, serve and present food to a high standard

Required essential experience skills and qualifications:
-Food safety level 1,
-Health & Safety level 1
-NVQ level 1 and 2
-Experience of working within a customer service based environment
-Experience of working within a catering environment

Desirable experience skills and qualifications:
Although not essential, it would be desirable for the candidate to have the following:
-Food Safety level 2 and 3
-Health and Safety level 2 and 3
