Job Purpose and Impact
The Central Sales Representative is responsible for developing and executing the sales vision and goals in an appointed geography within an established customer base. This position will be a customer expert focused on building trust & meaningful relationships with customers to deliver organic growth. The Central Sales Representative will work with customers to support nutritional needs for a variety of livestock animals.
Key Accountabilities
- Initiate, develop and maintain long-lasting working relationships with customers, primarily virtually.
- Develop customer sales strategies to meet customer goals and objectives.
- Align with customer to sell products and promotions, focusing on cross-sell and up sale opportunities.
- Gather and communicate channel, market, customer, or competitive information and intelligence and interact with team on strategy and pricing functions.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Process customer orders and manage overall order fill rate and on time delivery service.
- Develop strategy to realize specific growth opportunities across multiple customers.
- Make nutritional recommendations for feeding of ruminate and monogastric livestock.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Proven negotiation and selling skills and experience
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the animal nutrition industry or animal science
- Excellent communication (listening, written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Relentless determination and courage to get things done
- Effective problem solving skills
- Knowledge and understanding of Salesforce.com
- Virtual selling skills
- Leverage data and analysis tools to identify sales trends, cross sell, and customer growth opportunities
