Set-up / Start-up

Report to the assigned production line, check work orders, stack and case codes.  

Check to ensure that full pallets of the correct trays / cartons blanks are available in the staging area.

Maintain De-nester

Move pallet of cases of  trays to the appropriate line with pallet jack.

Cut the banding, remove the wrapping and place in the proper receptacle.

Manually open cases (25lb per case) of trays and place on worktable.

Remove stacks of product trays (< 2lb per stack / 50-75 trays per stack / 4-6 stacks per min) from cases and place stacks into de-nester feeder (6 feeders per side) to supply the line.

Breakdown empty cases and place on pallets as required.

Inspect / Orientate Product

Visually inspect product and packaging on conveyor belt for quality and remove non-conforming to appropriate tub.

Manually manipulate and orientate trayed product to keep it level in trays and on conveyor as required.

Place reworked product back onto the conveyor as appropriate.

Fill Cartoner

Obtain full case of cartons (25lb / 44-cases per hr) from pallet, open and manually place full carton on the magazine in-feed of the Cartoner machine.

Open bottom and remove case from in-feed, breakdown cardboard, stack on pallet and remove empty pallets as required.

Change Film Rolls

Obtain rolls of film from pallet (35lb per roll / 4-5 x per shift) place it on machine rollers and secure.

Splice / tape new roll to old and remove spent film.

Fill glue pots as required.

Clean-up

Re-seal and put away packaging material, breakdown boxes and place in proper receptacles as required.

Perform general housekeeping duties, wipe, conveyor belts, place trash in bins and maintain a safe work area.

Secure tools, equipment and machinery and complete all required paperwork.
