Job Description

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing a full cleaning service (planned, reactive and specialist) within the whole secure facility.
  • Offer out of hour’s availability for reactive service (desirable).
  • Undertake monthly internal and external window and window frame cleans.
  • Undertake grounds and gardens maintenance, including planting, grass cutting, weeding etc.
  • Undertake painting and decoration works.
  • Undertake minor building fabric repairs/replacements.
  • Provide an ad-hoc porterage service.
  • Undertake and support the completion of the facilities planned preventative maintenance service provision
  • Collect all waste and deposit at specified points within the facility boundary.
  • Respond to raised service events and emergencies such as spillage or to verify faults and other service non-conformities.
  • Co-ordinate and undertake churn activities e.g. moves and changes.
  • Maintain stock levels of consumables and equipment provided throughout the building e.g. toilet/copier paper and detainee consumables
  • Train others in core caretaking duties/responsibilities and give direction to other members of staff when required.
  • Provide a customer facing service with excellent communication skill and high levels of customer awareness.
  • Providing on site management of support staff, external contractors and supplier deliveries.
  • Provide cover for holidays and sickness at other sites and own (including weekends, Public Holidays) as well as provide a level of flexibility towards working additional hours when necessary.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Site Engineer, Senior Engineer or Contracts Manager.
  • To comply with operational procedures including necessary Health and Safety requirements.
  • To aid effective energy consumption within the building by ensuring that all lights are switched off when not required.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous maintenance/Cleaning experience
  • Previous experience working within a secure facility
  • Basic ICT Skills
  • Basic Electrical and Mechanical Skills
  • Hold a current clean driving licence
  • Flexible regarding working hours
  • (Desirable)
  • High level of customer service
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Good written English skills
  • Self-motivated - be able to work unsupervised
