Job Description

Reporting to the Operating Effectiveness Performance Capacity Planning Lead, the Capacity Planning Lead Analyst will collaborate with the Capacity Planning Lead, Capacity Planning Analysts, and business partners to maintain operational Capacity Models that measure inventory, cycle time, productivity, and project staff supply vs demand. The Capacity Planning Lead Analyst ensures models are updated with accurate data inputs within committed timeframes to enable monthly and weekly capacity decisions to be made. Actions have impact on key business objectives.

Job Components

  • Actively participates in weekly, monthly and quarterly Capacity Model maintenance based on the requirements of the Capacity Planning Lead and Capacity Planning Analysts
  • Develops and maintains data repositories that contain capacity planning data inputs
  • Influences data policy to manage and monitor data compliance for critical fields within key applications that serve as the basis for an accurate measurement system
  • Ability to learn an operations’ key business processes and applications to determine the primary sources of data
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Experience with workforce management/capacity planning within a large enterprise business operation
  • Works collaboratively with stakeholders, enablers, and teams to deliver necessary data to maintain capacity models
  • Partners with the Capacity Planning Analysts to develop short term resource allocation plans, and short term tactical resource mitigation action
  • Partners with the Capacity Planning Lead and Analysts in a mentorship model to advance operational/capacity analysis skills

Talent and Responsibilities

  • Work with the Capacity Planning Analysts to maintain historic capacity model input data, and synthesize business intelligence data 
  • Maintain complex analytic models and forecasts using business define data inputs from several discrepant systems
  • Manage relationships within capacity planning and business operations
  • Manage workload assignments across a matrixed environment while achieving optimal performance
  • First level problem determination by monitoring data collection tools
  • Produce performance data to aid in identifying bottlenecks
  • Produce ad hoc resource usage reports.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience within a workforce management department or 1 year within a capacity planning department
  • BA/BS degree strongly preferred
  • Experience with data management and advanced MS Excel is required and MS Access, SQL Server is highly desired
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to research, problem solve, trouble shoot, and partner across the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to support multi-functional tasks with guidance
  • Healthcare Industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrates presentation skills to prepare, deliver, and ensure understanding of data set information
  • Strong relationship building skills with face-to-face or telephonic interaction
  • Experience in creating ongoing and ad-hoc reports to support workforce resource alignment

This role is Flex/WFH which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
