The Smart Metering Team are responsible for delivering the Smart Metering Service to meet its contractual commitment on behalf of Telefonica.
About the Role
Capacity Management is responsible for ensuring that there is sufficient capacity to meet the demands of the business, maintain service levels and help control costs. To that end the role holder will act as a lead subject matter expert for Capacity Management and related Demand management activities in order to continuously improve the way in which the company manages its service supporting resources, meets planning objectives and reduces risk to service.
You will work with the TUK business & partners providing Capacity & Demand management impact assessment and analysis aimed at providing the business with an accurate assessment of capacity risks and providing expertise to develop agreed mitigation strategies & plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, maintain and manage the capacity management processes to be followed within the business internally or by third parties operating our infrastructure and services.
- Ensure that capacity management processes, reporting and SLA’s are represented within appropriate RFP’s covering the delivery, operation and management of infrastructure, services and applications.
- Perform Capacity Management governance of third parties and their SLA’s\reporting.
- Provide liaison between third parties and TUK interested parties for Capacity & Demand Management.
- Agreement and provision of Demand Forecasts
- Ensure that appropriate levels of monitoring of resources and system performance are set, and that the information recorded is kept up-to-date and used to support Capacity Management activities. This may involve liaising with third party providers to collect the information.
- Produce capacity plans in line with the organisation’s business planning cycle, identifying capacity requirements early enough to take account of procurement lead times.
- Report on performance against capacity targets contained in SLAs.
- Maintain knowledge of future demand for Services and predict the effects of demand on performance service levels and resultant capacity requirements.
- Contribute to the Demand Management process as required.
- Ensure requirements for reliability, performance and availability are taken into account in all capacity planning and sizing activity.
- Work alongside the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure that regular and ad-hoc audits are carried out on the Capacity Management process.
Key Skills/Experience
- Working with Senior Managers and key stakeholders both internally and externally
- Experience in Network, IT & Telecommunications environments.
- Demonstrable experience in a Capacity Management\Planning field, including toolsets and capabilities.
- Experience of designing, implementing and managing processes.
- Experience of 3rd party SLA & KPI management
