£30,000

Tuesday to Saturday

 

We started BaxterStorey with a very simple idea – to provide fresh, locally sourced good food made by talented well-trained teams, who love giving our customers a memorable experience. We have now teamed with Social Bite which is founded by Josh Littlejohn MBE and Alice Thompson, Social Bite began life as a small cafe in Edinburgh, Scotland, in August 2012, since then they have become a major employer of people experiencing homelessness and extreme barriers to employment, as well as the largest provider of free freshly made free food in the UK to those in need.

 

We are opening a brand-new Café in Strand, London where we will be supporting people who have experienced homelessness into real job opportunities. The Café will have the same ethos they have in Edinburgh and give back to the local community in giving people who have experienced homelessness extensive wrap around support to assist them to build on their skills, re-integrate into society and transform their own lives through the Jobs First Programme which is running successfully at the moment in Scotland.

As a Café Manager you thrive on getting the best out of people, you draw satisfaction from managing, training and supporting a team. You will manage a team of 2 Barista’s and then further team members as they join the Jobs First Scheme through Social Bite.

You’ll also:

  • Ensure that customers are given an efficient and enjoyable customer experience and that their service and value expectations are consistently exceeded.
  • Monitor the work of all the staff and carry out appraisals, recognise training needs and potential as appropriate.
  • Be passionate about the Coffee Bar operation and be aware of new concepts and ideas in the industry and on the high street that may enhance the current offer
  • Actively encourage staff to further develop themselves and seek out new trends.

 

What we would like from our Café Manager

  • Have experience in as a manager within a hospitality environment, ideally retail
  • Being able to build strong relationships.
  • Having an awareness of issues that may affect people who have experienced homelessness.
  • Experience in creating a thriving and successful working environment
  • Possess excellent supervisory and communication skills
  • Good delegation and influencing skills
  • Able to demonstrate team development skills
  • Have the ability to display a real passion for food and customer service
