ENGIE are recruiting for an exciting new role, Cafe & Bar Manager to be based at The Last Drop cafe in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Part of the ArcelorMittal Orbit complex . This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.

The role holder will be responsible for the smooth operation of all elements of the venue and supporting the sales team in growing the business. All applicants must have a commercial and operational understanding of the Catering, Hospitality and Events industry. An opportunity to bring new ideas to the business.

What will you deliver?

• Managing the food/beverage provisions and supervising catering / waiting staff at functions and events

• Overseeing the management of facilities, e.g. checking event bookings and allocation of resources/staff including planning shifts and rotas whilst ensuring Health and Safety regulations are strictly observed

• Maintaining stock levels and ordering new supplies as required ensuring budgeting and financial targets and forecasts are met

• Recruiting and training permanent and casual staff

• Monitoring the quality of the product and service provided

• Keeping up-to-date with trends and developments in the industry, such as menus or trends in consumer tastes whilst maximizing sales and meeting profit and financial expectations

Who are we looking for?

• A strong people manager with the ability to think on your feet and take initiative with tact and diplomacy

• An appreciation of customer expectations and commercial demands whilst working under pressure

• A well-organised approach to work; flexibility and the ability to solve problems in a pressurised environment

• Experience in the bar/events industry is essential.
