Overview
Evernorth Care Delivery / Cigna Medical Group is seeking an experienced project leader to drive forward strategic and innovative efforts. This role will work directly with leadership of business units and key stakeholders in aligned departments to understand and evaluate business-specific requirements, and to drive the development and execution of solutions to address complex business needs. Projects and programs can range in content, including (but not limited to), business operations, clinical operations, process development/implementation/improvement, data, technology, finance, and quality program design.
This role will simultaneously lead multiple large projects and programs and direct one or more teams involved in the evaluation of systems requirements and/or the development of new procedures/processes/or policy solutions to address highly complex business needs. This role will assess impact and implications from a cost, efficiency, contractual, legal and/or regulatory standpoint. Comfort in providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines will support strong performance in this role.
This role requires 10% of travel. You will need to be fully vaccinated in order to travel & meet the requirements for this position.
Responsibilities
Utilize project management methodology, tools and techniques (developing and maintaining project charters, detailed project plans, status reports, budget tracking, etc.)
Establish and maintain strong relationships with project partners across the company along with the ability to challenge them to drive alignment on execution of deliverables
Apply change management discipline to all appropriate facets of a project lifecycle
Maintain project issues/risk logs, implement mitigation strategies and escalate risks along with potential solutions
Assess project performance against measures of success and evaluate project status, resource utilization and implementation of changes to improve the teams’ effectiveness.
Provide consultative services to stakeholders to safeguard against scope creep
Identify and expose business opportunities and implications of re-engineering projects as well as identify and facilitate process design changes and execute process improvement initiatives.
Analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements.
Manage third-party partner and/or vendor relationships, as necessary.
Lead regular project meetings to review progress and priorities and ensure a positive, collaborative work environment for the project team and matrix partners.
Ensure the use of best practices and apply lessons learned from previous projects.
Develop communication(s) to ensure customers, stakeholders and resources are aware of changes impacting the project
10% travel is required for the role
Qualifications
High School diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred, Master’s Degree preferred
7+ years of project management/related work experience required
Experience working in Healthcare strongly preferred
Ability to think strategically, work in ambiguous situations, respond favorably to change, execute efficiently, work on deadline pressure and manage multiple projects
Strong business acumen, with proven ability to acquire knowledge in new business areas and new types of projects.
Ability to lead and influence in a matrixed environment is critical
Experience with SharePoint & WebEx Meetings required
Preferred
Knowledge of Agile methodology
PMP certification a plus
Lean Six Sigma certification a plus
Change Management Certification a plus
This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
