Role Title: MSS Chief Financial Resources and Chief Commercial Offices - Business Manager - Associate

Reporting to the Global Chief Operating Officer, MSS Chief Financial Resources and Chief Commercial Offices, within the broader MSS Management organisation, you will join a team that shapes, collaborates with and supports our strategy.
The role has significant breadth supporting our executive team. The job holder will have a unique opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary, very technical and global environment across a range of topics including Financial Resources Management (FRM), Financial Resources Optimisation Trading, and Strategic Business Development.
Two pillars for this role involve business management for the global team and a particular focus on FRM.
FRM oversees Financial Resources deployed within MSS. This includes: liquidity, funding, leverage and Risk Weighted Assets / Capital. The team’s primary objective is to ensure that these finite Financial Resources are deployed efficiently and effectively to business lines, initiatives, and significant transactions. The team contributes towards forward projection and forecasting of resource requirements with respect to structural business changes, market movements and regulatory change, and monitors progress against targets agreed with Business Line Heads.

This role requires someone with enthusiasm, energy, creativity and curiosity, who can work both independently
and collaboratively balancing a strong bias to action with a technical and strategic mindset.

Responsibilities
•    Facilitating and/or supporting Financial Resources Management and Financial Resources Optimisation Trading on initiatives and projects
•    The ideal candidate is technically strong in Financial Resources Management.
•    Business management for a highly technical global business within MSS Front Office
•    Active involvement in management presentations that can often be technical in nature
•    Participating and advancing the technology agenda underpinning the teams remit
•    Assist the Global COO MSS Chief Financial Resources and Chief Commercial Offices, with high quality support, planning, data gathering, information analysis, coordination, execution, and presenting considerations to relevant stakeholders
•    Tracking high priority initiatives and identifying any obstacles
•    The job holder will exercise a diverse set of skills, in particular the successful candidate will be of degree calibre and have strong organisational and influencing skills
 

Qualifications

 

Role requirements (technical expertise, experience)
Experience
•    Experience in Business Management, Strategy, and/or COO roles within Financial Institutions or Markets related business
•    Proactive managing multiple geographically diverse stakeholders 
•    Understanding and practical experience of financial markets and products 

Skills
•    Analytical Skills - proven interpretation and utilisation of management information
•    Ability to distil complex and varied data into information; good process analysis and problem solving skills 
•    Strong stakeholder focus along with pro-active management and negotiation
•    Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to succeed within a matrix management structure and build
