We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) in our Prime Video Commerce Data Engineering team. As a BIE you will work closely with our products and engineering teams in building metrics and dashboards that drive actionable insights on a wide ranging areas from customer journey to payment success. Data-driven decision-making is at the core of Amazon’s culture and this role will have a direct impact on the decisions and strategy of the Prime Video Commerce Platform products.

Key job responsibilities
· Generate and present concrete and actionable insights and recommendations for leadership based on sound methodological analysis
· Proactively create new metrics that represent key inputs/outputs of the business
· Support automation processes across the team


A day in the life
· Work with Product Managers, Software Development Managers , other DEs and leadership to identify metric needs and requirements
· Set up and maintain self-service infrastructure (e.g. dashboards) for the team in Quicksight/Tableau

About the team
We own a highly scalable data platform that leverages AWS Big Data technologies for various product analytics and metrics. We also own the production of multiple high leveraged datasets that drives customer video subscription and transaction metrics in Amazon.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, statistics, or a quantitative field, or equivalent experience
· Proven analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and concepts
· Experience as a Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, or similar data roles
· Excellent SQL , visualization, and problem solving skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience with Tableau or other similar data visualization tools
· Experience with AWS Redshift Infrastructure
· Statistical modeling techniques
· Data manipulation with Python
