DESCRIPTION

Job summary
The FR Retail BI team is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to help us measure, analyze and solve problems. Your work will directly impact how the FR Consumer Business evolves and grows.
The successful candidate knows and loves working with business intelligence tools, will be an expert with SQL, ETL, relational DB modeling, is creative and analytical and can partner with customers to answer key business questions. Amazon has a culture of data-driven decision-making, and demands business intelligence that is timely, accurate, and actionable.

Key job responsibilities

• Have an understanding and empathy for business objectives, and continually align your work with those objectives and seek to deliver business value.
• Analyze and solve business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.
• Develop solutions that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity.
• Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
• Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
• Write high quality code to retrieve and analyze data.
• Use data mining, model building, and other analytical techniques.
• Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon’s data resources and know how, when, and which to use and which not to use.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or related field
• Professional experience in business intelligence, product management and/or financial analysis with approximately 1+ years experience
• Advanced SQL, ETL, databases and Excel in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
• Data modelling/architecture skills
• Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Communication skills with a team player mindset
• Ability to balance competing priorities
• Experience in gathering requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting
• Very good English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Design and scripting experience in either Python, Perl or Shell script
• Experience with Amazon Redshift and other AWS technologies
• Previous experience in a Machine Learning, Data Science or Software Development
