Job Description

You will primarily be involved in the migration from the legacy on-premise Data environment (Oracle and Business Objects) to Capita’s new Azure Based Dynamic Data Platform. You will be developing ETL\ELT processes, creating and managing data structures, as well as the development of the Semantic layers that the rest of the function will report from. In parallel there will be a secondary requirement to support the Team in maintaining the current platform (Oracle & Business Objects) depending on skill set whilst the migration takes place.

What you will do:

  • Support the “Business Intelligence Managers” and “Head of BI and Data” (Senior BI Managers) and own the BI governance for Platforming and reporting Infrastructures:
  • Business Objects \ Oracle RDBMS
  • Azure Technology Stack - ADF, Pipelines, DevOPS, Data Lake, Synapse)
  • Meet internal and external clients to understand BI / Analysis Business requirements.
  • Evaluate and analyse BI / Analysis Business requirements from a Data perspective in determining the most appropriate BI / IT solutions to support them.
  • Estimate effort in developing BI / IT solutions to provide input to costs.
  • Document, code, test and implement BI / IT solutions to support Business needs to agreed quality standards.
  • Provide input into internal departmental initiatives in order to produce reports/recommendations aimed at improving effectiveness.
  • Resolve incidents to ensure ongoing integrity of implemented projects.

  • BO Server Implementation, configuration and support (inc. server balancing, Apache\Tomcat)

  • Oracle PLSQL
  • Oracle APEX
  • Unix / Linux shell scripting
