About the role

Security Watchdog, part of Capita plc, are looking for a Business Development Manager to form part of our highly successful Sales team. You will be responsible for selling the full suite for Security Watchdog services across pre-employment screening, consultancy services (immigration, GDPR, Due Diligence), eBulk criminality checks and identity solutions to clients from business sectors across the UK and wider EMEA region.

Reporting to the Group Sales Director, you will be responsible for lead generation and identifying/fulfilling tender opportunities to contract award. You will be targeted to win new business (retained or ad-hoc), increase client retention and ensure repeat business. Working with other departments, you will cross sell products within Security Watchdog externally and across the wider Capita Group.

To ensure sales activity is consistent and maintained in order to achieve continuous growth, these roles will involve travel including occasional overnight stays, when it is safe to do so.

What you will do:

  • Achieve agreed targeted levels of activity and net fee income on a consistent basis
  • Actively win and develop major client accounts
  • Manage individual sales pipeline and work within a team of Business Development Managers to achieve Business Plan targets
  • Manage the sales process from start to finish including using subject matter experts for technical client meetings
  • Generate new leads and pipeline opportunities through cold calling and contact generation
  • Handle any difficult, challenging, or complex negotiations in partnership
  • To effectively liaise with the Client Relations team to ensure that the best outcome to the business and our clients is achieved
  • Ensure that all operating and reporting procedures are adhered to in accordance with the law and company policy
  • Update CRM Salesforce with sales activity

Your experience will include:

  • A proven and successful track record in selling to large organisations, Private and Public Sector at a senior level ideally in the employment screening market
  • Knowledge of Employment Screening, Disclosure and Barring Service and Disclosure Scotland
  • Knowledge of HR Software, Applicant Tracking Systems and other Human Resource Information Systems
  • Knowledge of UK Data Protection Act 1998 and international equivalents
  • Experience of working remotely, or operating independently, with the ability to maintain self-motivation and be consistently pro-active
  • Successful management of longer term projects
  • An accomplished negotiator familiar with justifying pricing and demonstrating ROI to potential customers
  • Ideally a Full driving licence
