About the team

We are a Sales team that services Medium Size Customers. We focus on UK businesses between 5-99 employees to deliver ICT and digital solutions that support our customers on their transformation, helping them be more efficient and reducing their costs thus underpinning their future success.

Role purpose:

  • Your role will be to proactively generate sales opportunities (Pipeline) to new logo prospect accounts and to convert these opportunities to sales across the full portfolio of VirginMediaO2 products.
  • You will build a strong and balanced pipeline of new customer opportunities, with a focus on driving customer value to improve revenue streams through selling Mobile, DIA, Microsoft O365, hardware and other solutions.
  • You will be a specialist in knowing your prospects' needs and their plans for growth or business transformation, to offer them the best solution to suit their requirements.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities:

Develop sales insights into a defined portfolio, through proactive prospecting activity.

Gain relevant customer information to support the generation of new sales opportunities within your area

Deliver results - this includes target achievement, developing and implementing action plans for delivering results, balanced pipeline growth and management, forecasting, logging/recording of customer interactions on salesforce/CRM, understanding and plans for correcting or improving your personal performance statistics

Self-sufficiently sell the full VirginMediaO2 product's portfolio into your customer account base, with a clear growth strategy for each customer. This should be done both independently and with support from the Specialist Pre-Sales Team for the more complex sales when required but with a consistent curiosity to develop your own skills across our complete portfolio

Activity – A fully proactive contact strategy across all prospects within your identified target base to ensure you understand their key 12/24-month strategies to position yourself a Trusted Advisor for their telecommunications and digital requirements. Achievement of all activity metrics – outbound calls, account coverage etc as laid out within the requirements of the target for the role

Activity - In addition to crafting a self-generated pipeline, you should be able to rapidly engage Marketing generated leads, converting these to qualified sales opportunities through; quickly building customer rapport to facilitate a consultative, solution led sales conversation.

Responsible for maintaining accurate and detailed customer contacts, activity, pipeline, and opportunity information within the Salesforce CRM

Customer Experience – Facilitate timely handovers of newly won customer accounts to ensure a smooth transition from New Business Sales to our Account Management team.

Essential skills:

  • B2B sales experience in an environment that requires delivery of multiple sales targets
  • Experience in "solution selling"
  • Experience engaging with Senior partners and decision-makers
  • Confident communication– orally and written
  • Driven and self-motivated

Desirable skills:

  • An understanding of the competitive landscape for VMO2
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM
  • Able to keep up to date with changes in products, services and proficiencies through self-learning and self-development – a curious learner who takes personal responsibility for their development in product & service knowledge as well as their own skills
