What we need:

We are seeking an individual with multiple years of restaurant operations experience and a passion for how technology can help simplify restaurant operations, elevate the guest experience, and improve unit economics. The Business Capability Owner represents the “voice of the customer, maintaining and prioritizing the needs of our Yum! restaurant teams and providing acceptance criteria for solutions created by the Yum.dev Inventory and Product Management product team.

You will:

  • Work with all Yum! brands and BMU stakeholders to determine the needs for our Inventory and Product Management technology solutions.
  • Set the product vision and own the product roadmap in collaboration with the Yum.dev team that shows the timeline for delivery of key features.
  • Create user stories and prioritize/reprioritize them based on the needs of the business (aka groom the backlog).
  • Creation of acceptance criteria based on feedback from stakeholders.
  • Understand key business objectives and strategy of the product.
  • Work directly with the customers: restaurant management teams, franchisees, and other key stakeholders to ensure they are engaged and supportive of direction.
  • Be responsible for final decisions on product functionality.
  • Assess business value and prioritize all stories to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that align with strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with your agile product team.
  • Define success metrics and measure performance.
  • Participate in the release process as the product expert to surface any issues prior to release.
  • Ensure that roadmaps and the product backlog are visible, transparent, and clear to customers and stakeholders.
  • Work with product team on setting and communicating release dates and scope.
  • Follow-up with product customers to ensure features are working properly in production.
  • Location:Irvine, CA, Louisville, KY, or Plano, TX (Remote possible for exceptional candidate)
  • Must be fully vaccinated by January 3, 2022, subject to reasonable accommodations. Proof of vaccination required.

Skills:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills; Technical writing experience a plus (i.e. writing user stories, business requirements, and acceptance criteria)
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with both technical and non-technical partners
  • Strong understanding of customer needs and business strategy
  • Ability to use analysis to prioritize business value
  • Ability to build product roadmaps, run meetings and drive agenda
  • Self-disciplined Get Stuff Done approach to work

Background:

  • Education/Certifications – Bachelor’s degree in Restaurant/Hotel Management, Business, Computer Science, or related field. Masters a plus.
  • 10+ years’ experience with restaurant field operations, preferably multiple years in a restaurant management role at a Yum! owned brand.
  • Recognized know-how mastery in Inventory and Product Management restaurant technologies:
    • Inventory Counting Solutions (familiarity with scanning solutions that utilize GS1 barcode or RFID a plus)
    • Suggested / Recommended Ordering Solutions
    • Inventory Receipts and Transfers
    • Traceability / Food Safety / Food Quality Solutions
    • Product Prep & Hold Solutions
    • Finished and Raw Waste Tracking (including Harvest programs)​​​​​​​
