As a Business Analyst you will work with Product Managers / Owners and other key stakeholders to effectively analyse business requirements, both functional and non-functional and build product backlogs to enable development teams to deliver product changes within defined product release cycles. You will be involved in the end-to-end software development lifecycle from product idea to releasable software, following Agile / SCRUM principles, working closely with the development team.

The role will require you to investigate and fully understand the current business situation, by adopting appropriate business analysis approaches, based on the context of the work.

You will act as a trusted advisor to achieve solutions that are fit for purpose and deliver business benefits that are aligned with the product vision and strategy, collaborating, and effectively communicate with relevant stakeholders, whilst acting as a liaison between the product team and the development team.

Capita SSS provides mission critical command and control software to the Emergency Services globally.  Several development teams exist across products and locations to deliver customer funded projects/changes, strategic roadmap changes and maintenance activities to support our current customer base.

Location - Home Based - Remote with flexibility to travel to other Capita sites when required.

Due to nature of this role successful applicant must be able to obtain required vetting NPPV3 level checks

Reporting to the Head of Business Analysis for line management, you will be part of a growing team of Business Analysts and centre of excellent for the discipline.

What you’ll be doing:

• As a Business Analyst you will work with Product Managers / Owners and other key stakeholders to effectively analyse business requirements, both functional and non-functional and build product backlogs to enable development teams to deliver product changes within defined product release cycles.
• You will be involved in the end-to-end software development lifecycle from product idea to releasable software, following Agile / SCRUM principles, working closely with the development team.
• Investigate and fully understand the current business situation, by adopting appropriate business analysis approaches, based on the context of the work.
• Act as a trusted advisor to achieve solutions that are fit for purpose and deliver business benefits that are aligned with the product vision and strategy, collaborating, and effectively communicate with relevant stakeholders, whilst acting as a liaison between the product team and the development team.
• You will work collaboratively within the team share business analysis best practise, including Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) techniques.
• Working in a matrix management environment, you will be accountable to the relevant Product Delivery Manager to ensure analysis artefacts are delivered to cost, time and quality.

What we’re looking for:

• Demonstrable years’ experience as a Business Analyst in a software development environment working closely with product managers, owners, developers, and testers to build a product backlog for delivering product changes
• Working experience of software development processes, within an Agile SCRUM environment
• Ability to create effective relationships across the business and influence, negotiate and resolve conflict with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, written, visually and verbally with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Leading workshops to gather requirements
• Demonstrate understanding of client / server solutions and software architecture
• Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously

• BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis
• Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) -  Discovery phases, Example mapping, Gherkin user stories and Conditions of Acceptance (CoAs)
