The Role:

Our IT team are looking for Business Analaysts to help ensure that our IT project team understand New Looks business needs and it's impacts and translate these so that appropriate solutions can be developed and changes are taken on smoothly.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Work with the business and IT team(s) to capture and document requirements / stories (both functional and non-functional)

• Use a range of techniques such as workshop facilitation, document analysis, sites visits, use cases, scenario modelling, task and workflow analysis

• Ensure requirements / stories are concise, complete, specific, unambiguous and that they are aligned to the strategic and tactical goals of the project and the business

• Define the importance of requirements / stories and support prioritisation

• Refine these requirements / stories to a sufficient level of detail to allow appropriate implementation of solutions and testing

• Provide refined requirements / stories into project iterations in time to allow design/delivery to commence

• Manage the scope and traceability of requirements / stories throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that they are understood by both the project team and business stakeholders

• Support the production of business cases, ensuring benefits align to strategic and tactical business objectives as well as technology planning

• Use their understanding of New Look business, people, technology and concurrent delivery work to assess;

• Use their understanding of New Look business, people, technology and concurrent delivery work to support the assessment of;

• Design impacts

• Synergies with other delivery initiatives

• Potential blockers

• Dependencies

• Discover and document the as-is process by applying various process modelling techniques

• Design and model the to-be process, performing gap analysis and identifying areas for improvement

• Ensure business processes are aligned with the business and IT architecture

• Review solution designs, ensuring business requirements are verified, validated and delivered

• Assist with the identifying and managing of risks, issues and dependencies

• Work with the test team to provide business input into test strategy, system test plans, system test conditions and UAT plans

• Work with the service team to provide business input into service transition

• For delivery of smaller projects, the Business Analyst may be required to act as the Project Manager and undertake other tasks across the full project lifecycle such as systems design, supplier management, status reporting and planning, and testing.
