We’re supporting our clients as they adapt to a new world in the wake of COVID-19. We’re now recruiting for roles which will help our clients to deliver vital services and to resume business wherever possible.

Help strengthen our Product Team as a Product Business Analyst. Location can be considered anywhere between Basingstoke and London.

Reporting to the Head of Product, this role will form an essential and critical part of the ongoing feature development, and roadmap planning function and represents an opportunity to work in an exciting environment of multi-disciplinary teams collaborating across Capita to deliver high profile and market shaping digital products.  

You'll be delivering high quality Business Analysis and Product Development to ensure our Products are best of breed and that we truly understand and delight our Customers. 

You will spend time with Product Management functions, Professional Services, Customers, sales and customer relationship managers, prospective customers and users to help design features, enhancements and future roadmap definition.  Then you will work with on and offshore Development teams using an Agile software development methodology to bring these feature plans and roadmaps to life in the form of deployed features and products.  

You will proactively share knowledge to help the business support these projects.  You may also need to lead a small team of Business Analysts &/or UX resources on projects.  Once products or features are ready to pilot, you will assist with Early Adopter trials and then bring the observations and new ideas back to the business and product management function. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Building clear picture of how assigned products are used by existing customers
  • Working with Users, Product Manager(s) and business operations to improve current features and create new ones
  • Effectively translating functional requirements to the Agile scrum team
  • Supporting the effective transition from existing development partners to our clients
  • Contributing to project RAID analysis and logs as well as PMO Project Status Report (PSR)

What we’re looking for:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Customers and Users, Product Managers and project teams
  • Proven ability and experience of effectively translating functional requirements to development functions and teams
  • Ability to run workshops
  • Ability to multi-task, work at pace and understand business priorities
  • Complete product development life-cycle experience
  • Ability to work on all industry standard BA artefacts including but not limited to:
    • Production of and contribution to Business Cases.
    • Contribute to Scope analysis to explore business strategy and objectives
    • Business Process Mapping (ideally using BPMN2) Current, Interim and Future State
    • Conceptual Modeling
    • Production of structural, behavioral and interaction artefacts; including:
      • Use Case Models
      • Use Case documents (Current and Future State)
      • Data / Class Models
      • Activity Diagrams
      • Sequence Diagrams
      • Screen mock-ups / Wireframes
  • Define requirements (User requirements, Business Requirements, Functional Requirements, Non Functional Requirements, Implementation Requirements and Business Rules)
  • Create user stories using information gathered by interaction with customers
  • Ability to use a range of analysis techniques such as:  SWOT, PESTLE, MOSCOW
  • Experience of JIRA or similar workflow tools
  • Experience of working in a PRINCE2 / DSDM Atern Project Management environment
  • Experience of Agile Software Development Methodologies
  • Experience of adherence to PMO governance within an industry standard delivery framework
  • Excellent use of spoken and written English
