Job Summary:
Cox Communications is looking for a high-energy Pricing Analyst who is incredibly curious about marketing and pricing analytics, capabilities building, and continuous improvement. This individual should possess the keen ability to build capabilities, a focus on continuous improvement, and must be a self-starter.
The Pricing Analyst will strongly influence our pricing decisions by analyzing company/competitor pricing, promotion, and product offers and making recommendations for improvement. The candidate will work closely with teams across the company including Marketing, Sales, Advanced Analytics, Business Operations, and others. The successful candidate possesses a track record of willingness and ability to work collaboratively and effectively across departments and boundaries to deliver on project objectives. The Pricing Analyst must be able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, possess outstanding analytic skills, own deliverables end-to-end, and prioritize workload effectively.
This position can be located in Atlanta, GA (preferred) or any of Cox Communications’ geographic operating markets.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Serve as a pricing and promotion expert reporting to the Manager/Sr. Manager of Customer Pricing
Support retention pricing and repackaging strategies with in-depth analyses
Monitor, analyze and summarize recommendations for retention revenue management opportunities
Conduct extensive analysis around effectiveness of key discount variables including the length, breadth, and depth of promotional offers
Lead development, maintenance and enhancements of analysis dashboards and reporting, leveraging tools such as Excel, Tableau, Thoughtspot and SQL Developer
Represent Customer Pricing in various cross-functional work-streams
Work with leaders and business partners to develop and implement product price strategies for various markets, channels and customer segments
Develop innovative methods and tools for reviewing, analyzing, forecasting and presenting on pricing performance metrics
Understand the causes of financial and competitive market trends and anomalies
Articulate findings and recommendations to internal customers with ease
Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of CCI's products
Qualifications:
Minimum
2+ years of work experience in pricing, business analytics, product management or other related field (eg: finance, marketing analytics)
Strong analytical/financial analysis background
Proficiency in at least one of: Excel, SQL, Tableau, PowerPivot, MicroStrategy
Must possess collaborative skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Strong communication and presentation skills required
Comfort setting direction and drawing insight from multiple (and often unclear) data sources
Self-starter, independently initiating and driving projects towards completion
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, economics, finance, or equivalent
Advanced degree with an emphasis on quantitative analysis (e.g. engineering, economics, finance, business analysis or equivalent)
Experience with data modeling, pricing analytics and strategy
Experience in decisioning engines and workflow management systems (e.g., Pega Systems)
Financial forecasting and modeling experience
Proficiency with quantitative tools including Tableau, PowerPivot, MicroStrategy, Excel, and SQL
Understanding of database platforms such as AWS and Snowflake
Work experience in telecommunications or a subscription-based business
