Job Summary & Responsibilities

The BAM is primarily responsible for customizing and implementing Hill's Retail Environment & brand strategies to grow market share and associate brand recommendation within the customer base. The BAM position develops and executes customer specific 6P plans to get to the Hill's commercial goals of net sales, share, margin, while spending within GTN guidelines. As a Business Account Manager for Hill's Pet Nutrition, you will assume headquarter customer management responsibilities for specific Neighborhood Pet Chains. The customer responsibilities will include customers such as Petland, Feeders Supply, Mounds, and Chuck and Dons and the position will be based from your home office in or near Cincinnati, Ohio. A BAM is responsible for establishing relationships at all levels at the customer via direct communication, business presentations and frequent interaction with the customer key contacts.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops, executes and supervises 6P plans versus the goal
  • Drives 6P plans and responds to customer requests during regularly scheduled meetings with each customer (minimum (1) per month
  • Updates Colgate Business Planner to reflect baseline sales and promotion plans. Leads customer payments
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with both the customer and internal commercial teams - Marketing, Supply Chain, and Store Operations
  • Develops and maintains process and plan to analyze each customers' business. Reviews current business trends, shopper insights in plan development, and learning's from post analysis of executed activities into strategic 6P plan.
  • Executes shopper programs with Hill's Shopper Marketing, demonstrating Hill's brand strategies to drive incremental retail sales
  • To develop and execute customer specific annual strategic plan and initiatives to achieve the commercial goals. Engages customer on category growth expectations.
  • Executes Hill's retail environment and brand strategy with Hill's BDM & Retail Marketing team
  • Drives forward actions in monthly customer planning meetings to review actuals plus plan-to-go with manager, BDM & Finance

Basic Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree or higher
  • 3+ years of Field Sates experience calling on retail stores (or corporate sales experience)
  • Proficient software skilled in Excel, Word, Power Point

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience handling key accounts/headquarter accounts

  • Excellent business presentation ability and a skilled communicator
  • Strong influence and negotiations skills for a winning pad with persistence, compromise, and respect
  • Adept at finding common ground, identifying vital interests, and understanding the customer's underlying priorities
  • Strong analytical skills to develop 6P recommendations that result in optimized consumption based on consumption data, shopper and consumer insights
  • Leads ambiguity and strategize solutions for the customer's business and 6P plan performance and quickly develop alternative plans as needed
  • Works optimally across functions, channels, and categories to align priorities, seek problems, optimize resources, and drive effective execution
