Position Summary:

Define and/or modify robot systems. Produce efficient and logical programs and operation techniques that will satisfy user requests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, troubleshoot, and improve factory control and automation systems for new and existing equipment.
  • Support manufacturing in troubleshooting automation and controls issues
  • Participate on internal teams to facilitate the development,
    maintenance and continuous improvement of factory automation
  • Influence and support the design and implementation of factory
    automation equipment
  • Facilitate the definition and execution of design verifications and
    manufacturing control plans

            Engineer controls and software solutions for manufacturing work cells and assembly

  • Assist supervisors in monitoring quality of robots and train operators to run robots.
  • Trouble-shoot any machine variances to maintain product quality.
  • Maintain OSHA compliance and corporate safety standards within the department and company.
  • Complete maintenance of the machine.
  • Establish network of programs to utilize memory of systems.
  • Capable of re-work electrical trouble shooting.
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating SOPs and Picture Specs.
  • Perform duties assigned by Supervisor and/or Group Leader. 
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations strictly and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Work overtime as required and mandated by production schedules.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2-year Associates Degree and equivalent work experience.
  • Prior programming experience required.
  • Have a basic knowledge of computers.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and communicate with counterpart.
  • Ability to operate and set up equipment.
  • Must know coordinate synchronous motion.

Work Environment:

Regularly required to work at heights on platforms, lifting parts and pieces up to 70 lbs, traveling up and down stairs on a constant basis, sitting, squatting and bending in various awkward positions for certain lengths of time - including working overhead, traveling in and out of work areas, walking and being on your feet for a majority of the workday. Exposed to noise, dust, fumes and odors on a daily basis.  Pushing and pulling material carts.  Physical exertion is required.
