Position Summary:

The role of the preventive maintenance technician involves carrying out various duties, tasks, and responsibilities to ensure machines and equipment don’t develop faults when in operation.

Essential Functions:

▪ Carry out routine check on the company’s facilities ▪ Carryout regular preventive maintenance on facilities to mitigate major damage

â–ª Diagnose and repair or replace worn parts in machine and equipment

â–ª Ensure that safety standards are maintained in the course of performing duties â–ª Ensure that the facility areas and work environment are free of hazardous objects and substances

â–ª Assist in supervising the activities of external technicians or sub-contractors

â–ª May be required to assist external technicians/sub-contractors â–ª Assist in the preparation of budget for facility installation or maintenance â–ª Keep proper record of work activities, including all procurement and maintenance costs

â–ª Submit reports on work activities and progress of work to the supervisor

â–ª May be required to assist in the movement of materials and labor for projects â–ª Weld on steel fixtures, fabricate and weld parts for plant when needed

â–ª Leveling limestone in pontoon storage lot with caterpillar bucket truck

â–ª Plowing out snow in areas around plant with caterpillar bucket truck

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma

• Technical training in mechanical/electrical field or maintenance mechanics preferred

• Must have demonstrated proficiency in reading blueprints, a tape measure, and basic math skills

• Ability to analyze and repair of mechanical problems associated with fork trucks, air compressors, and piping systems

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Forklift, EPJ, scrubber, caterpillar bucket truck and scissor lift experience are preferred • Good client/customer service skills

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks

• Ability to work effectively with a team

• Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort

• Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willing to learn

• Requires normal to complex manual dexterity level

• Experience in metal fabricating and steel welding

Physical Demands/Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently standing and lifting heavy objects weighing 50 to 100 pounds. The employee is constantly walking, pushing/pulling, reaching, and climbing stairs. The employee is occasionally squatting, kneeling, and using fine hand movements such as tightening screws, bolts, and securing pins. Specific vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Environmental demands include working both indoors and outdoors and is seasonally exposed to extreme temperatures.
