The ideal Cloud Engineering candidate is someone who has the experience with cloud infrastructure as code with a DevOps / continuous improvement mentality. You will be joining a team of talented and passionate engineers to build the next generation Cloud platforms at Brunswick using the latest technology stacks. As a Cloud System Engineer you will be working with internal IT support personnel and cloud vendors to maintain and support Brunswick’s Cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate must have knowledge in cloud solutions (SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS), troubleshooting network connectivity and system performance issues, monitoring; and network and systems security. As part of the team you will be responsible for Cloud support and server provisioning, IP subnet/VLAN management, Cloud infrastructure, firewall request management, implementing security best practices, and enforcing network and system security for onsite and cloud systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design and develop next generation cloud solutions leveraging Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
  • Deploy resources to cloud environments using CI/CD pipelines
  • Participate in Infrastructure as Code reviews and releases
  • Foster and expand the DevOps culture across the greater organization
  • Maintain and enhance software tools, libraries, and automation code for use across teams and departments
  • Contribute to OS distribution, golden images, and creating ephemeral systems
  • Automate large-scale deployments with modern software configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible), including monitoring and ITSM components
  • Be a solution engineer and participate in solving complex problems
  • Create and maintain build pipelines for Kubernetes deployed applications (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc)
  • Leverage automation tools to operationalize complex tasks
  • Integrate disparate IT systems using APIs and other means to reduce manual IT tasks
  • Collaborate with the security team to analyze, create standards for various cloud services
  • Build dashboards to provide visibility and enhance a Data Driven Operating Model
  • This can be a remote position for the right candidate.

Technical Domain Knowledge:

Candidates should have moderate to expert ability in one, or multiple technologies, in each Technical Domain

         Domain A: Cloud Platforms

                             Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Kubernetes

              Domain B: Automation Tools

                             Puppet, Terraform, PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Ansible, ARM, REST APIs

              Domain C: Infrastructure

Virtual Machine Technology, Virtual Networks, Routers, Load Balancers, VPNs, IPsec, DHCP, DNS, HTTP/s, TCP/IP, Backup Technologies, Storage Technologies

              Domain D: Information Security

Use of Key Vaults, Secrets Storage, Firewalls, Network Security Groups (NSGs), Public-key Encryption, DevSecOps, Web Application Firewalls

Experience/Educational Qualifications:

  • Five years’ experience with various technologies across each Technical Domain
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.

Preferred:

  • Certifications such as: PMP, Six Sigma, Azure DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Solutions Architect
  • IT project experience across multiple industries, markets, and/or functional areas
  • Five additional years’ experience in an IT infrastructure or software development related role
