Position:       Strategy and Process Engineer

Location:      Edgewater, Florida

Department: Product Development and Engineering (PD&E)

Reports to:  VP BBGTC – PD&E

Job Summary:

Serve as a dynamic change agent and lead strategic product development focused improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma tools. Lead cross functional teams to align on common product development processes and deliver sustained improvement to help achieve strategic goals. Ability to challenge conventional thinking, implement a robust Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) process, and mentor Green Belt employees to ensure certification. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Align High Performance Product Development (HPPD) process at multiple Technology Center sites
  • Evaluate, identify, and implement Engineering standards across multiple divisions
  • Assess and expand the use of Team Center Engineering (TcE) along with other development tools within the locations to drive commonality
  • Identify and implement new software tools to improve productivity
  • Define and implement a training program to improve the overall skillset of the PD&E team while administering ongoing capability assessments
  • Lead cross functional projects that deliver improvements in the eyes of our customers
  • Lead and implement software transitions or upgrades
  • Energize, coach, and facilitate cross functional teams, while fostering an environment of trust, camaraderie, teamwork, and results
  • Find more ways to let the voice of our operators be heard and ideas for improvement acted upon to improve our company in the eyes of our customers
  • Be the example to leaders across our company, helping them to see through adversity, deal with ambiguity and follow a vision to new and improved processes
  • Advocate for constant improvement in key organization processes and harbor persistent focus on removing waste to add capacity to our business to make room for growth
  • Act as an internal consultant and key connector between cross functional teams and assist leaders and managers with project prioritization and initiation
  • Maintain enthusiastic change agent mentality to drive change without unsettling stakeholders throughout entire organization.

  • Cross divisional collaboration on processes and tools with Mercury and Advanced Systems Group

Education and Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (requirement may be deferred with equivalent work experience)
  • Black Belt, Lean Sensei, or other Lean/ Six Sigma certification with 5+ years of experience
  • 5+ years Product Development Management experience
  • Direct team leadership experience
  • Perform in a tactful, professional, and flexible manner with diverse personalities
  • Drive results through influence
  • Build relationships, develop people, and create high-performing teams
  • Lead teams to decisions in sensitive, complex, or ambiguous situations
  • Work with large volumes of process data using statistical methods
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with customers
  • Documented project experience with ability to hold others accountable
  • Excellent organization and follow-up skills
  • Able to work under extreme confidentiality
