General Job Description:
Provides material support to the boat assembly process for boats ranging from approximately 11-42 foot. Fills material requirements according to production orders from a paper/electronic pick ticket or upon request. Pulls materials and parts from shelves and assembles on racks for distribution on manufacturing floor. Expedites parts and material shortages. Participates cycle counts of all inventory.

May use a variety of tools and equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, ladders, parts racks, wave lift, cherry picker, computerized MRP system to locate parts…etc.

Sitting 15 %
Standing 40 %
Walking 45 %
Most activities involve standing for periods of time, walking distances, lifting and pulling parts ranging from ounces to approximately 50 lbs. Some activities involve pushing racks with required parts out on the assembly floor and to finishing area. Cleaning of stockroom area to include dusting and sweeping. Most activities involve alternating from standing, walking, bending, reaching, pulling and lifting.
Twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, lifting and turning activities are generally performed throughout the day on a frequent basis.
Workers frequently climb ladders to pull parts.
Pushing/pulling of a light to medium level as well as frequent lifting of parts is required for most tasks.
Reaching over shoulder level and shoulder to waist level reaching is performed on an equally regular basis. Occasionally activities to floor level are required.
Activities Required:
Most activities involve lifting pushing and pulling parts and materials ranging from 1-50 pounds. Assistance from others in the immediate area is available for heavy items.
Workers frequently carry light parts and materials from 1-20 pounds, occasionally to 21 to 50 lbs very short distances to parts and material racks. Assistance from others in the immediate area is available for heavy items.
Working environment:
Work is performed inside a warehouse manufacturing-type facility. There is exposure to a variety of dusts related to the production of fiberglass boats. Floors are concrete. Safety equipment such as cut gloves and safety glasses are provided. Additional safety equipment is provided upon request. Personal protective devices are provided as needed upon request.
