Position Summary:
The In-Process Inspector performs quality inspections in accordance with the Boston Whaler Quality Plan. This includes but is not limited to inspection of purchased parts and product in various staged of production.
Responsible For:
In-Process Inspections of recreational boats, parts and systems. Must demonstrate a sound understanding of processes and process control. Document inspections and maintain control of construction records to be kept on permanent file. Perform departmental in process inspections as outlined in the Boston Whaler Quality Plan. Collect and report inspection defect data for root cause analysis. Participate in new product integration by working with Engineers and ME Technicians.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Education:
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Prefer college level coursework.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in boat assembly required.
Experience trouble shooting and repairing Assembly problems.
Must be able to read prints and possess a good understanding of the ECR process.
Experience in identifying/grading fiberglass surface quality required.
1-year experience in In-Process Inspections in a production environment preferred.
PC based software experience preferred.
Other Requirements:
Ability to work effectively with little supervision
Willing to study and learn
MA standards
Good written and verbal communication skills
Position requires standing for 10+hour per shift
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Ability to work around fiberglass dust
