POSITION OBJECTIVES

To provide manufacturing engineering support to all areas of operations.  This will include interfacing with various levels of Manufacturing, PD&E, Maintenance, Purchasing, and Quality Assurance.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with PD&E through out all phases of product development and integration. Ensure DFM methods are employed and product is designed to allow the most efficient and cost-effective manufacturing. Ensure all related BOM, fixtures, and other engineering documents are 100% complete and accurate prior to release to production.
  • Investigate, process, verify and implement Engineering Changes.
  • Process PACE suggestions and bring to closure.
  • Audit, modify and optimize Bill of Material (BOM).
  • Audit, modify and optimize engineering documents (prints, process sheets, etc.)
  • Design and develop tools and fixtures.
  • Support production in issue resolution, new product integration, continuous improvement, and change implementation.
  • Develop SOPs, work instructions and procedures to document processes.
  • Know and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience - preferably boat building.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.
  • Must be able interpret engineering drawings and production processes.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • PC skills (Windows based) required. MS Office required.
  • AS400/Profound experience preferred.

EDUCATION

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • AS in Engineering or related field preferred.

  • Proven record of handling multiple tasks successfully.
  • Must be a self-starter and highly productive individual.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on information gathered.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to interact effectively in order to train team members in the areas of assembly, manufacturing, and production.
  • Demonstrated handling skills and working knowledge of power tools used in the facility.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.  The employee is occasionally required to use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
