Boston Whaler - Boat Detailer – Part-Time Summer

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs the following tasks to ensure Boats are cleaned and detailed inside and out and are ready for final auditing prior to shrink wrapping:  Cleans boats with large scrub brush using a cleaning agent.  Pressure washes boats in difficult areas.  Rinses boats off and then details from front to back.  Uses Large Scrub Brushes, Pressure Washer, and various cleaners such as orange cleaner, windex, and 2-02.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Preparing cleaning agent to use on boats
• Using large scrub brushes to clean the inside and outside of boats
• Pressure washing boats to clean difficult areas
• Rinses boats with regular hose after they are pressured washed
• Uses clean rags to detail boats from front to back using various cleaning agents such as: orange cleaner, windex, and 2-02
• Handles and disposes of chemicals safely and according to procedures
• Rinses out bilge area and vacuums out all compartments
• Inspects boats to ensure they are ready to be audited prior to shrink wrap
• Responsible for ensuring all cushions and seats are put in boats prior to shipment
• Performs housekeeping functions in wash pad area
• May be required to perform other duties as needed

GENERAL QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be minimum 17 years of age
• Familiarity with cleaning process and/or hand tools

PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements could include dust masks, gloves, and chemical resistant suits
• Ability to work a 10+ hour shift standing, bending, reaching
• Moderate lifting ability up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (may be above 100 ambient degrees or below 10 ambient degrees in areas of production)
• Ability to work in a fiberglass dust environment and a fast paced, noisy environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
