Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Senior Manager for the B-52 Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP) and the B-52 Radar Modernization Program (RMP) statement of work to be performed in San Antonio, TX.

The candidate will support the Boeing San Antonio Site Leadership Team and OKC Bombers and Fighters program management team in the pre-planning, set up and execution of re-engine and radar upgrades and modifications.  In addition, this position will also serve as deputy of site operations partnering with the San Antonio site leader running day to day operations. 

The successful candidate will be able to successfully prepare the site for the induction of B-52 aircraft in anticipation of USAF delivery aircraft in the 2022 timeframe.  Additionally candidate will help provide strategic direction for the Boeing San Antonio site leader on other program initiatives and develop plans to drive closure to a wide variety of projects. A strong data analytics and analysis background is required.  Additionally, a background in operations planning, process improvements and Executive-level engagements is preferred.

Manages employees and first-level managers performing modification work on two different contracts for CERP and RMP.  Responsible for execution on modifications and achieving all Safety, Quality, Schedule and Cost objectives.  Advanced technical knowledge and leadership to manufacturing projects to resolve production concerns. Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives. Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manages employees and mid-level managers performing activities within multiple manufacturing disciplines.

  • Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals and objectives.

  • Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers.​

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (required skill/experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • 5+ years of experience in aircraft sustainment, repairs and modification

  • 5+ years of leadership or management experience do you have working in a manufacturing/production environment

Preferred Qualifications (desired skills and experience):

  • 5+ years of experience implementing continuous process improvement, lean processes, and employee involvement and engagement strategies in a manufacturing environment

  • 8+ years representing an organization as a prime contact on projects and interacting with senior internal or external personnel on significant matters requiring coordination between organizations

  • 8+ years performing project management and Executive Level briefings and reports
