Anderton Boat Lift (Northwich, Cheshire)
There are not many people that can say, “I operate one of the most stunning engineering structures in the world & carry boats 50ft in the air†…. but could you be one of them?
Anderton Boat Lift is working boat lift, & a major historical attraction built in 1875, nestled in Northwich in Cheshire along the stunning River Weaver & the Trent and Mersey Canal. This gigantic lift is ‘one of a kind’ and an amazing feat of engineering that carries narrowboats 50ft up in the air transporting them from the canal to the river, and vice versa. Every year, we welcome thousands of visitors to the site to see this amazing structure and each year we get busier and busier with more and more people wanting to spend time on the water for holidays, business and wellbeing.
We are a looking for 2 new colleagues to join our team on a permanent basis her at Anderton Boat Lift. You will be working alongside our seasonal colleagues and volunteers to prove our boaters with outstanding friendly and helpful customer excellence.
You will often be the first person that boaters will meet as they approach the lift; many filled with excitement as this may be their first time entering the lift on a boat. Some boaters use the lift regularly and are keen to know what is new, and going on locally, as they travel down/up the lift in their boat. You will be key to ensuring all our visitors have a fascinating experience that is safe, and full of useful information whether this is about the lift, the River Weaver, the canal network or what they can visit and explore in the area by water.
In depth training will be provided as well as a uniform and personal protection equipment such as a lifejacket..
