BI research is a combination of written analysis accompanied by interactive charting and analytics created from company reported data as well as industry and government data. Analysts review, check and curate this data into comprehensive and logically arranged dashboards to support their own research and to provide Bloomberg Terminal users a platform to view and analyze the data as well.
 
Under the Bloomberg Intelligence Data and Data Analytics team, you will aid in the development and maintenance of Bloomberg Intelligence’s theme basket product.
 
We’ll trust you to: 

•   Collaborate across BI Research Analysts, BI Marketing, and Core Product to manage and expand the equity Thematic Basket product, which consists of thematic research and indices
•   Perform due diligence on new themes from index clients and BI teams. This includes sizing the market, determining supply chain, measuring longevity of the theme, building a universe of companies, and evaluating differentiators versus other products in the market.
•   Leverage knowledge of financial data for companies and industries to estimate thematic revenue exposure
•   Leverage experience with financial markets to analyze news affecting basket constituents to produce actionable insights in real time
•   Incorporate statistical analysis and back testing to measure performance and score effectiveness of basket constituents in capturing the theme
•   Execute client engagement strategies to promote the product with the BI marketing and Core Index teams
•   Managing quarterly performance and composition data on BI BSKT and basket research primers
•   Identifying workflow efficiencies to scale the basket creation and basket maintenance process
 
You’ll need to have:

•   Knowledge of financial markets and investments (3 years) (contributes to the theme research process, company evaluation process, story formation of basket, follow news of constituents, keep organized notes throughout the quarter for rebalance proposals, manage agenda for meetings)
•   Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; Intermediate proficiency in Python, with interest in accelerating
•   Experience in project management (organizing timelines, communication across multiple moving parts, defining milestones for rolling out enhancements or new baskets)
