Job Summary:

The BIM Manager is responsible for supporting functions and project in developing project life-cycle information requirements to deliver Project Information Model (PIM)  and Asset Information Model (AIM) per ISO 19650 standards and framework.  This includes upskilling and supporting project digital delivery scope of work.  The BIM Manager configures project Common Data Environment (CDE) to enable cross-functional workflows and use-cases, ensure BIM requirements are understoood  and complied to by the project team and stakeholders to renhance quality,and delivery of Infrastructure projects.   Performs supply chain BIM Capability & Capacity Assessments, develops and executes quality checks to ensure BIM/3D and information deliverables are in compliance with project BIM requirements, these include but not limited to, 3D Model Development (LOD/iLOD), 4D Integrated Schedule, DeEnvironment (CDE) collaboration, 5D Integrated Cost, and drive an innovative culture on Project.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Developing the project BIM strategy, requirements, and BIM Execution Plans (BEPs)

Provide BIM production support to project teams, champions setup and configuration of the: Common Data Environment (CDE), project model environment, model federation and interference management systems, data quality checking process, model coordination and deliverable generation to satisfy 3D/4D/5D BIM uses

Developing, communicating and institutionalizing standardized BIM workflows to the project stakeholders and subcontractors (e.g., A/Es, EPCMs)

Training and upskilling project delivery teams in BIM processes and tools.

Communicate and lead BIM/CIM and technology solutions to AEC professionals. This includes facilitating meetings with project management & conduct client-facing presentations

Reviews the Procurement and Contracts tender documents, BEP and automation plans, procedures used for the supply chain to ensure BIM capabilities/capacities are assessed and aligned to the BEP and project information requirements

Ensures adequate training is provided on the use of the CDE and associated tools to assist its deployment, including engagement with off-Project subject matter experts.

Conducts regular assessments to review the implementation of the BEP and level of BIM maturity achieved on the Project, and to seek opportunities for improvement

Monitors BIM deliverables to ensure compliance with the agreed-upon strategy, information delivery plans, standards and work processes

Serves as a liaison between IT staff, GIS professions and local BIM users

Participates in scheduled conference calls with the global team of BIM coordinators for the purpose of knowledge sharing, management and lessons learned

Provides operational direction to other BIM team members on the Project, including the BIM Lead(s) at 3rd Party engineering consultants, design firms and/or subcontractors.

Supports workflows for inter-operability with GIS and other Information Management Systems.

 

Basic Qualifications:

Industry BIM Certification (Revit Professional, CM-BIM, or related) is preferred

Must have knowledge of Autodesk and Bentley 3D/BIM authoring Platforms including features, functions, and limitations,

Working knowledge and proficiency with the following: Collaboration and data management solutions: BIM 360 Suite, Assemble, Synchro, Navisworks, 3D/BIM-enabled quantity takeoff and BIM-enabled estimating tools

Knowledge of Design-Bid-Build, Design/Build, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), LEAN and other modern contractual delivery methods

Understands project workflows from design, estimation, coordination, construction support and fabrication

Knowledge of industry standards, workflows, data formats and inter-operability techniques

Proficient in oral and written communications skills. Collaborates well in a team environment

Ability to manage priorities and take on additional evolving responsibilities 

Level 1: BS or MS degree in Architectural, Engineering, Construction Management and 9+ years of experience in AEC, EPCM projects with a minimum of 3 years experience as a BIM Manager/BIM lead/VDC Manager leveraging and managing technology in facility design and construction

Level 2: BS or MS degree in Architectural, Engineering, Construction Management and 15+ years of experience in AEC, EPCM projects with a minimum of 5 years experience as a BIM Manager/BIM lead/VDC Manager leveraging and managing technology in facility design and construction.  Has management and supervisory experience.
