BI LEAD

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Data and Analytics team as a BI Lead, focusing on building Analytics solutions and platforms supporting our large-scale business transformation across our global business units and functions. Partnering with our businesses, you will work with large data sets, design metrics, develop data models and drive business cases that will empower our business growth, operational efficiency, and customer relationships. Position Summary 

The BI Lead utilizes their understanding of data architecture, data integration, data quality, master data management, data governance, data modeling, and other data services related to business intelligence systems and combines them into a practical project strategy to deliver solutions to key business users. We look for our BI Leads to be the Leaders within our large team and ensure our delivered solutions are cohesive and consistent with our standards. 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Provide deep functional & technical expertise for reporting and analytics solutions 

  • Lead technical planning and delivery of multiple projects, providing regular updates to business partners and IT Leadership 

  • Design solutions and provide recommendations to improve our current environment and make analytics more significant for every employee at ADM 

  • Mentor team members in their use of data ingestion, data modeling, and business intelligence tools in the Microsoft Azure and SAP product suites as well as Qlik Replicate, Qlik Compose, Power BI, Informatica, and other leading technologies 

  • Ensure effective migration from development to service delivery including partnering with external development teams ensuring appropriate knowledge transfer in advance of migration to ADM’s environment  

  • Prepare and present ideas & recommendations to colleagues and management  

  • Coordinate with other teams to catalog and document source systems through data models, data definitions, and naming conventions  

  • Maintain team technical playbooks and Ways of Working  

  • Partner with Reporting Architects to craft outstanding data and reporting solutions

Desired Skills 

  • Knowledge of how current trends and process solutions can address identified business needs and capabilities 

  • Understands and can navigate the nuances of complex legacy business source systems  

  • Ability to share ideas effectively using Microsoft PowerPoint 

Education Requirements 

  • 4-year bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or another related degree of study  

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and implementing solutions  

  • Solid understanding of BI architecture, data warehousing concepts, and data integration best practices as well as Master Data Management 

Required Experience 

  • 5+ years experience using ETL tools including Oracle (ODI, OEDQ), Microsoft Azure (SQL Data Warehouse, ADF), Qlik (Replicate, Compose)  

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with BI tools including Microsoft (Power BI) and SAP (Analytics Cloud) with solid understanding in related ERP data models and data architectures (SAP and JDE preferred)  

  • Demonstrated ability with full Software Development Lifecycle methodologies, expert level of SQL, and working knowledge of ETL and ELT approaches, design and implementation  

In addition to the technical skills noted, a successful candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills along with a high intellectual curiosity and ability to rapidly learn new concepts/frameworks and technology to support the changing needs of our business.
