Driving success at Capita Learning a BI Data Engineer:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an BI data engineer to join our busy and fast paced team. You will be providing Capita Learning with an extensive range of BI skillsets and capabilities.  These skills will range across all aspects of the data life cycle.  Ranging from core data extraction techniques from source IT Systems (SQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, ODBC, etc), whilst flowing into the ability to effectively transform &model data into meaningful datasets which can be used within analytics.

This role post plays a critical role in the success of the business and combines the opportunity to utilise existing skill sets with extensive opportunities to develop and progress.

What you’ll be doing:

• Establish and provide data extraction processes from any IT systems used by Capita Learning to enable data for decision making analytics

• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, ODBC

• Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases

• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools

• Align systems and their data architecture to meet business insight requirements

• Deliver high quality data insight applications in visualisation applications using Power BI, QlikSense and NPrinting

What we’re looking for:

• Proven working experience as a business analyst in business intelligence field in a similar fast paced commercial environment.

• Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.

• Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.

• A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.

• Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

• Qualification/Experience with at least one of the following BI Software Visualisation ToolsPower BI, QlikSense, Tableau, NPrinting
