Job Description

£33,200 - £35,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6A)
Manchester city centre
We’re now working in a hybrid way, with colleagues dividing their time between home/remote working and the office. You can find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy

We’re looking for a BI analyst to join our team at Co-op and help us to look at all logistics related data as part of our wider analytics and BI function. Our business is changing, and it’s changing fast. We’ve developed a brand-new centre of excellence that brings together data engineering, data science, analytics, insight, data governance and business intelligence teams. You’ll be looking at a variety of transport and warehouse data to support our logistics colleagues in making key decisions for our business.

In this role, you’ll provide accurate reporting and insights to partners across logistics to solve their problems and needs. You’ll have exposure to a range of different colleagues, all the way up to senior level, with opportunities to get involved in some of the wider meetings and present your findings. We regularly come together as a team of analysts to share ideas and best practices and always encourage opportunities for improvement. If you have the analytical and great communication skills we’re after, we can offer you the chance to develop your career and make a big impact as we go through this exciting period of transformation.

What you’ll do

•    work with a wide range of data from across our logistics function; including transport and warehouse MI
•    provide key partners with reporting, data, and insight in a clear and engaging way to support decision-making
•    build relationships and engage with colleagues across the business to understand and scope out requests and deliver the best solutions
•    work on a mix of new reporting, building on older reporting, ad hoc requests, and larger project reporting development
•    contribute to an analyst workshop, regularly sharing ideas with others

This role would suit people who have

•    previous experience of business intelligence delivery
•    experience of working with large data sets, analysing information from multiple sources and the ability to manipulate complex data
•    experience of BI technologies, using data visualisation tools such as PowerBI or similar would be an advantage
•    exposure to the wider Azure environment
•    familiarity with data models, data mining and segmentation techniques
•    a strong numerical, logical, and analytical mind
•    great communication skills, with the confidence to present up to executive level
•    ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload

Why Co-op?

Here you’ll do work that matters. We’re a commercial organisation with a purpose beyond profit, you’ll have an opportunity to help us build a stronger Co-op and stronger communities. You’ll also get a package that includes:

•    competitive salary
•    coaching, training, and support to help you develop
•    pension with up to 10% employer contributions
•    annual incentive scheme
•    28 days holiday (rising to 32 in line with service)
•    discounts on Co-op products and services

Building an inclusive work environment

We’re actively building diverse teams and welcome applications from everyone. But simply having a diverse workforce is not enough. We aim to build an inclusive environment, where everyone can contribute their best work and develop to their full potential. We celebrate our differences and recognise the importance of teams reflecting the communities they serve.

We can make reasonable adjustments to our interview process according to your needs. And we offer a flexible working environment, so you can adjust your hours to suit your personal circumstances. You can find out more about Co-op people policies at colleagues.coop.co.uk.

As part of your application you’ll need to complete an online assessment. It will take you around 12 minutes to complete this test.
