Working hours: 37.5 hours, Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm

Our world class Local Government Services team supports local councils to improve outcomes and focus on what matters in their communities. We care about helping local councils to transform and make every penny matter to ensure front line services are protected as part of their citizens charter to ensure that people live and prosper.

We’re now seeking a Benefits Assessor to join the team.  

What you’ll be doing:

• To assess new claims, review claims and assess changes in circumstances for all tenure types of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support claims  
• To contact customers and other agencies both verbally and in writing, to gather and verify information required for the correct assessment of claims
• To provide support to our customer service and call centre staff, either over the telephone or face to face.
• To achieve your individual targets and objectives in line with the Performance Management and Quality Control procedures.
• To work as part of a team and to help that team meet its Key Performance Indicator targets.
• Understand and promote the company’s Equal Opportunities policy.
• To be aware and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• To be aware of health and safety issues.
• Any other duties as required.
