National and Alamo has an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Automotive Technician. The Apprentice Automotive Technician will spend up to 6 months working alongside Automotive Technicians to learn and gain experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles across several manufacturer lines until they have gained the necessary qualifications to become an Automotive Technician.
The successful candidate will be required to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, nights, and some holidays depending on business demand.
This position is located at our Fort Myers Airport Service Center located near the Fort Myers International Airport in Fort Myers, FL 33913.
Compensation ranges from $19.50 - $22.50 / hour depending on number of current ASE Certifications. This position is paid hourly, not flat rate - get paid for the hours you work!

Responsibilities
Work alongside an experienced auto technician as directed by supervisor or manager, to gain experience in the different areas:
Ensure that all mechanical repairs are completed according to the manufacturer’s specifications and guidelines
Complete manufacturer required training and perform warranty and recall repairs according to the manufacturer’s specifications and guidelines.
Complete ADA installs as required upon completion of training
Maintain vehicle repair history by documenting a Repair Order to accurately reflect steps taken and part(s) used during the repair.
Comply with part and inventory tracking procedures
Provide safe and reliable vehicles upon completion of all services
Utilize multiple manufacturers’ websites, software and diagnostic tools
May process new fleet, LOFR, tires, fuel reclamation or buy backs
Update job knowledge by participating in company and manufacturer approved training or other industry related training
Follow proper procedures to comply with all health, safety and environmental standards
Maintain the work area in a safe, clean condition and comply with all uniform and equipment standards
Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have at least two (2) current and valid ASE Certifications
Must have a valid driver’s license with no more than 2 moving violations and/or at-fault accidents on driving record within the past 3 years. No drug or alcohol related convictions on driving record within the past 5 years (DUI/DWI)
Apart from religious observation, must be able to work a 40 hour schedule Monday-Friday, or Tuesday-Saturday schedule - You will be able to choose your shift (plus lunch) between 7am-5pm.
Must be able understand, read, write, and speak English
Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
Must be willing to gain 2 additional ASE Certifications within first 4 months of employment
Qualified candidates should also possess the following:
Computer proficiency and experience with or the ability to quickly learn manufacturer’s diagnostic software
Ability to work overtime and flexible shifts as needed
Ownership of standard hand tools to perform repairs and maintenance on current vehicles
Strong sense of initiative with the ability to operate independently-requiring minimal direct supervision
