The Role:

• Responsible for the quality of the product developed as part of a Scrum team.

• Develops testing strategy for solutions and leads in testing methodology to both new development and bug/fixes to achieve application functionality that is of the highest quality within sprints.

• Provides automation test expertise, coaching and mentoring and works to instil a culture of quality within the team.

• Manages and tracks defects and works closely with project leaders to support the quality of the solution in all areas.

• Builds automation test suite for UI, API, integration tests.

• Reports status around test plan execution through defect logs and defect tracking system.

Functional Knowledge –

• Experience with the following:

o Typescript/Javascript

o Behaviour Driven Testing tools - Cucumber (preferably)

o WebdriverIO - Automation Framework

o API automation

• The role will be responsible for working alongside junior team members and will be expected to use their judgement and functional experience to make decisions

• Significant understanding of agile methodologies

Business Expertise –

• Experience of working in Retail would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite

• Should have experience of working within squads and collaborating with internal stakeholders to translate business requirements to technical requirements and solutions

• Will have knowledge of cloud best practice

Leadership –

• Experience of supervising junior resource

• Capability in managing people providing leadership required such as coaching, setting objectives and carrying out performance reviews

• Is able to evidence promotion of development best practices

Additional expectations:

• May be required to work occasionally in addition to the standard 9-5 working hours to troubleshoot issues with live applications
