What you’ll achieve

As an Automation Engineering Sr. Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day and ongoing priority management, strategic direction and individual career development for a team designing, developing and implementing services and processes that deploy, update, and maintain infrastructure supporting the Dell Digital cloud.  You will work with platform engineering, data center and capacity management teams on ensuring the delivery and reliability of the on-demand cloud resources our customers need and expect.

You will:

  • Lead a team of 10+ engineers; Provide guidance, help to grow their skill level and roles

  • Drive, deliver a product aligned with the product road-map and business priorities

  • Work closely with other scrum teams, cross-site and cross-functional teams, to ensure the right quality product is delivered as committed

  • Work on improving the productivity, efficiency, and maturity of the team

  • Lead, encourage, and facilitate innovation in the team

  • Embrace documentation and demonstration

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in a technical leadership role

  • Strong background with scripting/programming skills (e.g. python, ruby, bash, etc.) and experience with CI/CD tools and practices

  • Production experience coding against APIs (REST) and manipulating structured data (e.g. JSON, XML, yaml, etc.)

  • Production experience with cloud configuration automation (e.g. Ansible, Salt, Vagrant, Terraform, Puppet, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant technology degree or equivalent experience, and 8+ years systems administration/engineering of virtualized infrastructure and/or cloud services

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with hardware config protocols (PXE, POAP, ZTP, Redfish, etc.) and day 0 deployment of physical infrastructure

  • Production experience managing one or more critical infrastructure layer(s) such as network, storage, virtualization, containers, monitoring etc.
