Overview
Through learned knowledge and using external contractors, this position provides support resources in improving, maintaining, and ensuring the efficient operations of the Plainfield facility's manufacturing operations.
Job Responsibilities:
• Implement projects to improve manufacturing systems, material flow, throughput, and productivity.
• Manage the implementation of new automation into Plainfield’s operation.
• Assist maintenance with troubleshooting and maintaining PLC driven equipment, robots, etc.
• Plan, coordinate and perform multiple projects (often at the same time). Projects require varying levels of expertise, organization skills and communication abilities.
• Demonstrate positive working relationships with variety of customers (internal, external contractors and other Meritor plants).
• Organization of project needs and implementations (i.e., determine cost projections versus actual incurred, impact on workforce and facility operations, risk assessment versus advantages gained, etc.).
• May perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor degree with a minimum of 3 years of engineering experience or comparable experience
• Minimum 3 years of PLC programming and HMI programming (primarily Allen Bradley) required
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Fanuc robots required
• Personal computer software skills; Microsoft Office and CAD (2D and 3D) preferred
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for interaction, negotiation and coordination responsibilities
• Demonstrated experience working with teams
• Experience with purchasing / justifying / implementing capital projects preferred
• Proven organizational and project management skills required
