The Baker Hughes Artificial Lift Cable manufacturing engineering team supports the production of high voltage ESP cable. The team has begun advancing the facility’s digital capabilities and is looking to accelerate this growth.

Play an important role in delivering outcomes for our facility

As an automation and controls process engineer, you will play an important role in advancing the digital capabilities of our cable manufacturing facility. Working with leading-edge technology, you will execute projects, make key decisions and resolve issues. You will unite cross-functional teams to connect, share knowledge, innovate and to develop improvements.

As a Controls Engineer you will be responsible for:

·       Developing and maintaining data collection, predictive maintenance, and machine learning capabilities within the cable manufacturing facility

·       Serve as the bridge between the digital technology team and the manufacturing facility to bring alignment between facility goals and company-wide programs

·       Staying up to date with latest technologies and bring innovation to plant

·       Communicating vision for technological advancements across functions and demonstrate benefits to gain acceptance from stakeholders

·       Creating digital tools to improve manufacturing and business processes

·       Collaborating with vendors to continue building cohesive data collection and monitoring

·       Being the subject matter expert on the controls systems for all the cable processing lines

·       Designing access methods to data sources and incorporate data into process

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with at least 6 years of experience.

·       Experience with analytics and monitoring software such as Grafana

·       Have strong experience with ETL tools, DB performance tuning, and shell scripting

·       Having a good understanding of Data Visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, ThoughtSpot, etc) and Data Science techniques.

·       Being proficient in data storage solutions - OLTP, OLAP, Data Lake, Data Mesh technologies in AWS, Azure, Oracle, or SAP technologies.

·       Experience using LabView

·       Experience in driving process improvement in a transactional environment (Lean/Six Sigma)

·       Knowledge of process mining technology

·       Experience with PLC programing, HMI/SCADA systems and basic electronics

·       Show initiative and ability to work independently

·       Experienced in Project management and cost benefit analysis

·       Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks

·       Strong organizational, decision making, and presentation skills.
